Baby Blonde Loves to Bath

Sort of wishing that Lucy could stay 21 months old, for 21 more months, or years (or just seconds- depending on the moment). She is such a hoot. Such a posing, chatting, dancing, singing hoot. She's all kissy faces, arm poses, fake cheeses and "wwwuvvvv yoou's" lately. She is just the greatest little thing in all the world.

Happy New Year

New years was crazy!!! We partied like rock stars, got lit and jumped off buildings! Okay, actually, Todd, Lucy and I spent it just us three in Island Park. We had the best chicken friend steak known to man at Philips Lodge, put the baber to bed before 9:00 (a big win for this vacation), watched an embarrassing amount of "Breaking Bad." And celebrated the new year with two varieties of sparkling soda at midnight, sipped from mugs- in a nice, cozy bed. Side note *That lovely tightening around my shirt would be my 20 week baby bump, can't believe I've half way!!!*

Us in 2014

I've got big plans for this guy and I in 2014. He actually doesn't know it yet-- but, this year I vow (or resolve, or hope, or want, or might) do the following: I want to date him. I want to capture his himness in photographs.I want to travel to new places with him. I want to learn to salsa with him (bucket list item-- this guys hips don't lie). I want to cook with him. I want to get in shape with him (post May 19th). I want to wake up when he does ( more often.. not every day, lets get real here). I want to make our bed. I want to try really hard not to complain when he stays at school late to become a good dentist. And lots of other mushy junk that should not be written here but stored in my brain. And, yep... that's what we're gonna do. Go us.

Me whining + cousin love.

Sometimes it hurts my heart that Lucy isn't growing up living super close to cousins. Lucy is OBSESSED with her cousins. She has woken up every day for the past week asking for "Riey" (her 9 year old boy cousin Riley, who she worships) and keeps saying "frens" throughout the day, hoping her friends (cousins) will come to play. And, unfortunately I don't think we will ever live in Rexburg where most of my family resides. I try to get over it by thinking of all the amazing things the city has to offer for her, like amazing Thai food, museums, great shopping, theatre --ya know all the stuff an almost two year old values :) But, it sometimes doesn't help and I just wish we could plant a big mansion for ourselves in the fields behind my parents house. Ah, then I'd probably miss the city and crave date nights to Lebanese restaurants and photography spots at every corner. I'm hoping we get to always see our cousins often no matter where we live!

Christmas!

The best 48 hours of the year are Christmas Eve + Christmas Day. This year I had the anticipation of a five year old for Christmas morning to come because we got to open a present revealing the gender of our baby!!! It was the most magical gift I've ever opened. As usual Todd spoiled me to rotten with a great mixture of functional, wearable and just plain awesome gifts. And I decked him out with my favorite current fashion trends. The guy loves clothes, his eyes light up for a nice vest or bow tie just like they do for the manly tools my parents always give him. He is seriously the best to shop for. Wait, I actually take that back Lucy is the best to shop for. Or she would be the best if I didn't actually have to store the things I buy for her. Lucy was the cutest thing ever opening her presents. She unwrapped things slowly and would say "whats this" as she was opening them. Then would immediately start playing with whatever it was she unwrapped. She unwrapped the tiniest corner of an Elmo book and saw half of that red body and started going crazy for "Elmow." Funny how the little stuff were the big hits, and the big stuff were the little hit's. **Note to self: Remember this for next year.** She was walking around saying "happy, happy, happy" in between holding her microphone to her mouth and singing "fox say.. nanana.," or "I'm funny." I always want to remember her tiny fingers peeling off small bits of wrapping paper at a time. I always want to remember staying up until 2:00am with Todd unwrapping presents we had bought for each other. It started as "let's just open one," and ended up with us making five trips back down to the tree to get more presents. I always want to remember our family Christmas prayer as we thanked Heavenly Father for "Jeezie." And of course I always want to remember the best moment of the whole season (actually probably the whole year), when we found out we were having a little baby boy. Christmas is celebrated because of a little Baby Boy, I am eternally grateful for him. I know Jesus Christ, I love Jesus Christ. I am who I am because of him and his birth, life and death for me.

Snow, it's what for dinner

This little LOVES to play in the snow, and by play I mostly mean; she loves to eat the snow. Big thanks to my sister Hilary for the awesome Sorel boots. And to the awesome D.I donator whoever you are for Lucy's SUPER stylish snow outfit. Pink on pink, on pink, on pink, yes ma'aam!

The girl who strikes a pose

Lucy loves to strike a pose. Saying "cheese" for the camera stopped working a while back. We now tell her to strike a pose. She gives us a sassy face and puts her hands in some obscure position, and it is basically the greatest thing probably ever.

Dear Baby

We saw you yesterday. It was our second time greeting your cute little 2d self on the ultrasound screen. Your Dad and I have decided to TORTURE ourselves and wait one week to find out if you are a boy or girl! It.Is.Brutal. Absolutely killing me. I can't stop thinking and dreaming about it. It's going to make for the best Christmas ever though. Your Dad bets boy, and I am betting you are a little girlfriend for Lucy and a forever shopping partner for me :)Either way we are thrilled you are coming to us. I can't wait to hear you say mama for the first time. I can't want to touch your tiny baby hands, and kiss your perfect baby skin. Dress you in tiny clothes, and take pictures of every single thing you do. The newborn magic is calling to me, only five more months until you are here! I'm sure they will fly by. I hope you are as easy going in life, as you are in utero. Lucy was the drama queen from inception... requiring ultrasounds, and stress, lots of tears and tests. You, little one have treated me like a queen. A few bumpy days (or weeks) there in the first trimester but we are smooth sailing now. I love always having you with me. Your little kicks make me smile every time. I can't wait until you perfect your karate so your Dad can feel. I love sharing that with him. I mostly can't wait to watch you and Lucy be best little friends. The thought of you two growing up together is what calms me down when I feel like a CRAZY person for having you so close together!! We love you our little pirate (your ultrasound pictures had this freaky eye thing happening, and we sort of think you look like a pirate.. a cute pirate though, like from a Disney movie)Love you baby. XOXO-- MOM.
