Nutcracker auditions

Todd spent the weekend in Ogden with all of my brothers. They spent the weekend chillin at the condo and watching Rhett and Lincolns basketball games. In between games they had a little friendly game of football. This is Todd catching the game winning touchdown, but without the football it just looks like they are practicing for their upcoming roles in the Nutcracker. I obviously get my grace from my dad.

Wild Wild West

Welcome to the wild wild west, where the clay pigeons never get shot, and people are funny dressed. Most of us aint never held a gun, so trying to act western was prety darn fun. Todd looked pretty sexy in his cowboy getup, my 90 pound sister couldn't even hold the gun up. The gun was loud, heavy and hurt my shoulder real bad, huntin, campin or shootin is nothing I ever learned from my dad. Now my in-laws theres a different story, I was forced to go camping last year I through a fit and went home early. So if you are lookin for a buddy to go out shoot em' up wit, don't call up a Sutton -just cause we live in archer doesn't mean we can shoot worth a shiznit.

this is Todds contribution to the blog. Yesterday while we were on the phone we reinacted the whole conversation, Todd was yelling "BUTTLICKER OUR PRICES HAVE NEVER BEEN LOWER", in the library, he said he got some pretty funny looks, but there were a few people around that were laughing because they obviously had seen the episode.

You know you are married when

You know you are married when you wear these types of shoes with socks in public. Seriously, how did it come to this?

Fire? 911? New Kitchen? Sweet!

That is one voice mail you don't get everyday. I'm typing the exact wording of the message."Hi Suzy it's Brynne (the renters of the town home that Todd and I own) umm we are standing outside of your house and the firemen are in there. Um I'm so sorry but we had an accident while cooking with oil in your kitchen, they won't let us go back in because it is still like in flames and really smoky, but don't worry every things perfectly fine. Call us back." Ha ha, I love a few things about this message. Number one I love the details about the flames--- I probably would have been a little less freaked out without envisioning flames coming from the place Todd and I made memories the first year of lives, not to mention all the money we saved to buy it(with my dads help of course). #2 Don't worry everything is PERFECTLY fine. Yep, everything is great with the "firemen" and the"flaming", "smoking" house of yours that's going to burn down. Awesome. Anyways I called her back 9 hours later after my shift ended and I got the message, she went on to tell me that everything is basically ruined in the kitchen stove-cabinets--fridge--ceiling--dishwasher, but the fire was"pretty much" contained to there. But, Todd and I are completely stoked about it, because they had insurance, we had insurance so we are covered and plus we had alot of updates we wanted to do, so now is the perfect time... or mandatory time to do them. So I'm picturing laminate flooring, stainless steel appliances, nice cabinets, nice counters, new carpet everywhere (the restoration dude said we'd need all new carpets). Anyways I'm pumped, now I'm just feeling super bad for our renters. We truly love them, they are the best tenants anyone could ask for (minus the whole catching the house on fire thing). No big deal right?

Dead Man and Jazz Fans

You guessed it, it was Todds turn to be in charge of theme night. So we went to opening Jazz game, it was so fun. We'll share a few highlites from the game. #5 the freaky bear mascot was shooting t-shirts into the crowd with one of those poweful tshirt shooter guns and he accidentally shot a t-shirt at one of his coworkers standing right by him and it nailed him right in the privates (yes, another reason to fear mascots). #4 A man died a few rows in front of us. Honestly, he DIED they carried him out dead as a doornail. He was a very old obese man, I'm guessing his size mixed with excitement from the game just did him in, so that was wierd. #3 we got free chalupas from TacoBell because the Jazz got 5 blocks. #2There was a drunk old man with a long white mullet dancing like Beyonce in front of us. And #1 Todd and I took turns of dancing every time a song came on. Todds got MAD dancing skills don't you think. oh p.s work has been going great since my trauma day, I love it again.

Ventage

8 blood transfusions (2 per patient), one large occluding blood clot in one swollen and painful arm, one central line IV GUSHING large amounts of blood, one hysterical wife, one japanese speaking patient almost passed out on the bathroom floor, one hour overtime to finish charting, one patient transfer to the ICU, 6 calls to the doctor, 2 black and burnt legs from experimental chemo treatment gone seriously wrong. For some reason I pictured my nursing career all like bandaids and cute scrubs, not dying people and blood. I have been doing most stuff on my own.The three previous days on my own had been great. I was loving it, I was feeling confident. And then day 4 was trial through fire, I'll tell you what. I was doing good holding it together, I was doing too much stuff to think about how scared I was, but when Todd picked me up I just lost it in the car, hence the mascara all over my face. I promise I didn't look like that at work. Whoa, sorry I'm venting. I'm done. I don't want to mislead you. I love my job, I love my patients, I love being a nurse ... I think. I love the mountains, I love the rolling hills, I love the fountains, I love the dafodills. Okay I'll stop. It could be worse right? I could be a teacher of bratty junior high students, or a taxodermist of squirrels or something. Life is actually pretty good. Thanks for listening.

It's gr8 to be 8

Theme night Thursday was skipped because of work, but it turned about to be great night anyway. I would tribute our night to my favorite book when I was little "It's great to be eight" It started with a dinner of tortillas and cheese, ramen noodles, fruit snacks and capri suns. And then ended in a water fight, which then led to surfing on the kitchen floor. Ya, we are losers, but its great to be eight.

Fall and Eden

Todd and I went on a little get away to Eden Utah this weekend. It was beautiful, wonderful and perfect. After hiking all day we went back to the condo and cooked Marsala chicken and fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, of course Mountain Dew was the wine of choice, and scrumptious Toaster Strudels were for dessert. SO romantic I know. Anyways, you are all very lucky, because last week I found a book of school stuff from second grade. Because it is fall I am going to share with you a poem I wrote "In fall the leaves go red, I need more blankets on my bed. My mom makes me puts perms on my head. I like to go watch football, I like it when my friends call, and this is why I like fall." Very deep. I'm thinking of submitting it for publishing. I was even very intellectual back then... who knew?

Theme Night Thursdays

Theme night Thursdays had to be moved up to Wednesday this week cause I have to work tomorrow. Tonight's theme was "few of my favorite things." I forced Todd to watch the Sound of Music... forced being key word. He made fun of everything about it, he especially loved the part where all the kids are swinging in the trees in their curtain outfits, and also the 12 minute gazebo dance. In exchange for three hours of torture he got to go to Wendy's. Then the next on the favorite things list was a horchata from Bajios. And a trip to Trolley Square where we did back flips across the trolley bridge. It was a great theme night Thursday... or Wednesday. Oh and I triple dog dare any of you to try to get your husbands to watch Sound of Music... good luck.

Cancer Sucks

Cancer sucks, but I am loving my job and everything I am learning. A research doctor told us today that he thinks in 5 years how cancer is treated will be 90% different than it is now. For example, the leukemia my Granmda Robison died of can now be controlled with oral medications, no chemo or radiation. Just popping pills, and most people with that leukemia can live normal, active lives. WoW. I feel like I should be standing on the street corners preaching about not smoking and telling people the caution signs of cancer. Ha, I'm sure Todd is looking forward for my cancer prevention kick to end so I will allow him to go into the sun again, and I will stop spending our money on anti-oxidants and vitamins.

WELCOME ADDY LOU

Addyson Lou Stoddard was born September 27th, 5 lb 6 oz and 18 inches. She is gorgeous and perfect. It's a good thing Brooke is the toughest most hard core girl I know, because she didn't have time for an epidural or any pain meds. She did it like pioneer. Seriously, I'll be honest with all of you. I am freaked out to have a baby. I had a highly traumatic experience while I was in nursing school. Something about a stoned husband, a screaming laboring mother head banging herself against my stomach, a 7 inch episiotomy without narcotics, and then a very blue baby to show for the ordeal. It was rough. How anyone goes through labor is beyond me. Speaking of hard core women who can have babies, my mom had to deliver her own baby (Clarissa) while she was home by herself with three children locked in another bed room. Ya, WOW. To all of you women who have had children, I want you to know I think the world of you. I may someday join your ranks. Until then, lets spare me any stories about non working epidurals, 13 lb babies, any stories including the words "episiotomy"or "stitches". Lets leave those out. CONGRATS BROOKE and DAN. ADDY LOU is PERFECT.

DO NOT REPORT TO SOCIAL SERVICES

I need to preface my story by telling you that Todd would never hurt me on purpose, and inform you that he has given permission to tell this story. He is mortified, but I'm okay and find our last nights saga hilarious.

So it's 3:00a.m -ish and I see spiders... I see them in my dream, they were on my bed and the spiders were huge and fastly approaching my face. So, I scream bloody murder, the natural reaction to coconut sized spiders on your bed. And my loving, protective, tough husband is sure in his delirious and half asleep state that I am screaming because someone is attacking me. So, he starts throwing punches, he is up on his knees just thrashing at the invisible person, he's really going at it and finally he connects his fist with something. He's got him, the dirty little wife attacker. So he scrambles and hits the lights only to see a teary eyed and terrified me with a bleeding lip. He scoops me up in his trembling arms and apologizes all night, not kidding he woke me up hourly to say he was sorry and ask if I was okay. I am now very confident that if attackers ever come to get me in my sleep, I will be well protected... he's got quite a punch. I love you babe!

1. BYU and Utah Football (that's more on Todds list than mine). 2. Todd gets to go to "U" literally. 3. President Monson,Elder Ballard, Sister Lant and President Hinckleys son were the speakers at stake conference today. 4. Wal Mart is open 24 hours a day. 5. We get to covet the huge houses, and dream of being in debt up to our eyeballs like them. 6. Forever 21 at the gateway. 7. There are 12 Red Box's within a 5 mile radius of home. 8, Todd doesn't have to shave to go to class. 9. It's still 80 degrees at night. 10. Everyone drives 15 miles an hour over the speed limit (cops included), it's not just me anymore.

Mascot Madness

So, Utes are an ethnically related group of American Indians that live primarily in Utah and Colorado. So why in the world do they have this freaky possessed bird mascot thing (pictured above) walking around and scarring children for life? I think they are confused. No wait, I think everyone is confused. Why do sports teams insist on being represented by humans in massive terrifying animal suits? The first picture, is the Lakers mascot proving my point about mascots scarring children for life. 2nd and 3rd, Todd and I proudly supporting the Utes, 4th the possessed falcon Ute mascot. 5Th the disturbing sonics chubaka, the Mariners Moose and who knows what that blue thing is. Anyway keep your children away, or bad dreams and mascot phobia counseling are inevitable. Go UTES!

Come Get Me Skinheads

So, someone once told me that skinheads keep a list. The list contains the names of Mormons in their towns, so that if anything ever happens they can go skin their heads and take all of their food storage, or something. So I would like to announce that I am proudly adding my name to the Skinheads list--come get me. I am happily able to be on the list thanks to my amazing mother-in-law and canning lessons from my mom. P.s the picture where Todd and I are all teenyboppered up is two days before he left on his mission, four years ago. He was even using me as his slave to get his work done back then.

The Big Kahuna

Don't swear, don't swear, don't swear. Thats all I was thinking in this picture. We floated the Hoback on Saturday in Todd's dads new raft. It was so fun. I was supposed to be holding a paddle and helping row, but we hit the "Big Kahuna" which is the biggest rapid on the Hoback and I just couldn't keep my mouth clean and row and scream at the same time. So needless to say my paddle is tucked under Todd.

Playin' around

So, I ruined the blog. Don't ask why the font it so small and all over the place, I don't know and can't fix it. My bad... So these are pictures from my graduation party and my graduation week. Featuring: the future of the Madison Bobcat cheerleading team, Gracie and Halle(--I'm sure their dads are just thrilled to think of that). My Godson Peyton and amazing BF Kim. My stunt devil husband Todd jumping off bridges and grilling in his sexy harness. The climbing wall race, and of course me in all my graduatedness. Summer Rocks.
