graduation

It's OVER! Thanks so much to everyone that came up. Next time I graduate from something #1 I'll wear more comfortable shoes cause you have to walk like 23 miles during the procession deal. #2 use more bobby pins on my ugly hat. #3 Request a better looking gown (the night before I called Rissa almost in tears because my gown dress thing was huge. Apparently its one size fits all people like me and people like Chris Farley. It was not flattering or cute). I was highly tempted to tie my nurses tassels around my waist and tighten that tent up, but resisted. and #4 I'll remember that people need tickets to get into graduation, who knew?

Nurse Pinning

Even though nurses pinning either sounds like a wrestling accomplishment, or an immoral act with nurses it is not. Last weekend I got my nurse pin, which says RN and Brigham Young university- Idaho. Everyone dresses up in all white to symbolize nurses and integrity and we get our recognition for becoming RN's. My wonderful sisters and cousin Toshi came up for the ceremony, and my in laws and grandmas and brothers all came. Thanks again guys it meant the world to me that you were all there!

Nurse Suzy

I graduate from nursing school in 12 days... FINALLY. Yes, it has been amazing, crazy, fun, stressful, horrible, exciting and awesome. I will sincerely miss it. One of things I will miss is clinicals. It is kind of sick and twisted that I always wanted a really sick or really crazy patient, that way I could try new stuff or at least be entertained. Lucky for me I have had my fair share of both. I have listed the top ten most random things my patients have ever said to me. You guys are lucky you are allowed to laugh outloud. When I heard these things I had to respond professionally. Usually I would say something like "really" or "wow",but there was the occasional "ummmm are you being serious?" and yes there were a few innappropriate outbursts of laughter. You can understand why.

1"You just tie your husbands butt to the bed while he is sleeping, and take a frying pan to him and you beat his A. he'll never come after you again. I did it.
2"I want to lick your ears"
3"I have a magical body that if I wear a broken watch, my body will fix the watch"
4"My grandpa got his hand eaten off by a prehistoric dinosaur fish, his hand and the fish is in a museum in Alaska"
5"Save that urine, my wife puts it in bottles for canning."
6"I cut myself because cutting is my best friend."
7"My grandpa died of colonoscopy"
8 The most interesting allergies i've heard "condoms" and "marijuanna"
9"You are such a pretty nurse, can you date patients, well can you at least give me a bed bath?"
10"my mexican preacher taught me how to speak in tongues"

The Holman's

The "Little Boys"

I wonder when I will stop calling my 17 and 14 year old little brothers "the little boys". They are very handsome little boys I think. Lincoln is only in 9th grade and is playing on the J.V team. He is an awesome pitcher and first baseman. If they start to crush other teams they take Lincoln out of the game first, because he does too much damage. And Rhett has hit 6 home-runs this season, and has already been called by a college team and he is only a junior! Anyways they are both hilarious. We love Sundays cause we hang out with them all day. They always make up stupid boy games. Last sunday they made a golf hole by digging a can into the ground and they had a little PGA tour on the lawn. The Sunday before that they got my moms exercise ball and tried to knock eachothers heads off by throwing it as hard as they could. Needless to say I don't usually participate in their games, but they do have a lot of fun. We will miss them like crazy when we move!

Married people aren't boring!

On a maturity scale of 1-10 I would definitely rate our Friday night at about a 2. Someone told me this week that marriage makes people "boring." Scott, Mel, Todd and I went on a mission to prove that person wrong. We definitely were not boring on Friday night, immature, insane and crazy-- yes, but not boring. Our night consisted of playing in the rubble of the old Rex Motel. Dumpster diving at Kmart and throwing T.Vs off of grain silos (or at grain silos). MARRIED PEOPLE ARE NOT BORING!

We played Special Olympics among Hurricane Katrina's aftermath (that is what we were pretending the rubble was). In fourth place we named Scott the winner of the imaginary skeet shooting contest. Todd placed third in the construction cone cannon balling competition. Suzy got second with the board breaking baboozling contest. And the gold medal went to Melinda for tree hugging. Some other competitions we held were ...shelf toss.

Siding scrap javeline throw,

and creative fort building

To close our blog we would like to thank Kmart for donating broken merchandise to our "married people are not boring cause" and we'd also like to say sorry to the farmer with a shattered TV at the bottom of the silo. And thanks to Scott and Mel for a hilarious night.

Cute Boys

Todd spent Saturday night tending Ceigan and Riley. They made forts, played baseball, drew American flags and watched Top Gun, (a very age appropriate movie for a three and six year old). He is so good with kids, especially with Riley. He is going to be a cute dad someday... just hopefully not someday soon.Just kidding.

The First Waterbirth

My best friend Kim is due to bring Peyton Rider Ferney into the world on June 27th. I have been researching the best methods of childbirth for her and little Peyton. She is convinced that a hospital lithotamy position birth is best, but I'm a big advocate of the newest trend in birthing. Waterbirths. So what is waterbirth?A waterbirth involves immersing yourself in a knee-high pool of warm water during labour and/ or your baby's birth. It has been proven that water birthed children are better swimmers later in life, hold their breath longer, are smarter because they are usually home schooled. So kim, here is another option. I would also encourage the squatting method birth, all the rage in India. Or one of my personal faves hypnotic birthing. Good luck in your decision Kim. p.s I'll actually kill you if you don't have him in a hospital with an epidural...

"Weenie Roast"

I always feel a little awkward calling it a weenie roast, but technically it is not a barbecue because there is not a grill involved and hot dog roast just sounds unnatural, anyways. Todd and I discovered this perfect little fire pit in a field next to our house. The Holman fam came over and we had a "weenie roast". The weather was perfect and I'm sure the hot dogs were good. Todd made me a tin foil dinner because I refuse to eat hot dogs. After severe ridicule-ment I decided to come up with some legitimate reasons not to harm my body with hot dogs
#1. If you've ever gotten the juice from the package all over your hands or clothes, there's one reason to develop a taste aversion.
#2. The shape
#3. They may contain DNA mutating compounds that cause cancer, who knows?
And last of all, taken from the U.S. Department of Agriculture. "... While pork is most often used, other types may be used such as beef, chicken or turkey. Often variety meats like livers, gallbladders and spleen are used.
...liver, gallbladder and spleen enough said.

The Streetz

On the late night alleys of Rexburg, a new crew was formed. As Step up 2 as our inspiration we, G.A.H6 hit the streets united and determined. Andy inspired us with her words "It's not what you have, but what you do with what you have." Here is what we have. The cuts have been made, the final crew is now posted. We present to you Rexburg's hottest new dance crew, we'll see you in the streetz-- Gym After Hours 6.

Nate Dizzle- patented move... the snap.

M Kountry - patented move... fishin in the dark on drugs

Wy Dubbs- patented move...shirt whipping convulsion jump
A Town - patented move... sexy stance and booty dance

S money$$- patented move...electric shock/harlem shake

T-o Double Dizzie- patented move...

No seriously we all watched step up 2 together and then we went and danced in the alley for thirty minutes. With Gringos patrons and late night janitors as our audience, we battled and shook what our mothers gave us. A very fun and entertaining night, we are going to miss Wyatt and Ash like crazy, they are our best friends and we hope the best in their summer sales. GAH6 Foreva baby.

My Wonderful Sister

I just want to say Happy Birthday to my amazing sister Clarissa. She is one of those people you feel priveldged to know, and I feel very priveledged and blessed to be her sister and friend. With the combined efforts between she and my mom I am who I am today. On her big day, I have some confessions and apologies to give her...#1 I'm sorry that I used to hide in your room and listen to you talk on the phone to Kurt Schwab. #2 I'm sorry for reading your journal, specifically reading the phone conversations you would write down word for word with people like Cassie Mounts and Francie Parson. #3 I'm sorry I merritted the "I'm ticked, don't talk to me" phrase once or twice on our drives to town. #4 I'm sorry for cutting up your pictures... you know what I'm talking about. #5 I'm sorry for letting you get pink highlites in your hair, and encouraging you to chop off the blonde locks and dye them brown when you got married. And last of all, I'm sorry for posting this picture, but I couldn't resist. I feel one step closer to the celestial kingdom by finally getting that all off my chest. I love you, happy B-day!

Finals Week Curse

Every finals week there seems to be some unlucky happenings in our lives, whether it be massive cold sores, multiple speeding tickets, or complete emotional breakdowns. Bad things always happen at this time. This semesters unlucky happening was a hurricane Katrina of a problem... Todd has been working on his research paper all semester (OK really the last two weeks and once in a while). He asked if I would edit what he has so far. I did what I could to clean it up. Just as Todd was going to save all his work, the computer froze completely and the computer fan starting sounding like Bessie's generator. It took all the patience we had, which could fit in mason jar, to not throw the thing out the window. We tried several times to reboot it, but it never recovered. One hundred dollars, seven point five hours of backing up files, and three very frustrated BYU-I student computer tech's later we still have a non functional computer. However, the good news Todd finished his paper and thus far I am cold sore free. Hallelujah!

Tribute to Quesadilla's

To: tortillas and cheese, our favorite snack,
As finals week comes, you always have our back,
You go great with salsa and sour cream,
It's like having four guys, you complete our team.
You are always a guest at our lunch and dinner table
Tell your maker Tia Rosa, we picked her from the label
You are our main source of Dairy product,
That month we went without you, really sucked.
So thanks for all you do,
Never leave us without you.
We would suffer from malnutrition,
For Quesadillas, YOU are our religion
To make my mother proud we have decided to dedicate tonight's blog to the inspirational American Icon Glenn Beck and the D.A.R.E Program. D we won't do drugs, A won't have an attitude, R we will respect ourselves E will educate us now. We checked our attitudes at the door. Tonight we rushed out the door at 4:30 to get to the "Glenn Beck Fireside" early, so we could get in without tickets. The fifty cop cars outside, and red and blue balloons were our first indicator we were not at a fireside. No, tickets were not needed. Yep, a 6th grade D.A.R.E graduation complete with essays and the never to be forgotten dare song. Kind of ironic because earlier this week Todd sang the whole song to his 316 English class.--Wyatt as a witness. Anyways Glenn told us of his drug addict days and admonished us to live drug free. It really was touching. Glenn you are welcome in Sugar City and in our hearts any day.

Teaching Todd a Lesson

Last week Todd made the big mistake of bringing up my ninth grade head cheerleader campaign to. Those of you who don't know the story, it involves a horrible skit about grey poupon and skaters chanting inappropriate things as I gave my acceptance speech. If you don't know what the posters my mom and I made said, you definitely need to call for the whole story. So, for making me relive the embarrassment and horror of my campaigning days, I have decided to post one of Todd's senior pictures. Ha, feel free to laugh at his bleached hair, skinny frame and yes, that is a necklace with matching bracelet. To you babe, I'm sorry your actions forced me to post the pic. In the future stay away from the campaign topic and you will not suffer any consequences.- still love you though!
